Interactive Nolli Map

Giambattista Nolli produced this iconographic plan of Rome in 1748, and now universally known as the Nolli Map. Private space was shaded black, public space was white. Iconic for many reasons (hellllo accuracy, public/private theory/ Roman record keeping). I love zooming around it and imagining what the Roman’s were up to 💕
